Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Bureau Berix website, data marketplace, and all associated products and services. By accessing our website or purchasing any product, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are accessing our services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, you must discontinue use of our website and services immediately.
Our Services
Bureau Berix provides the following categories of products and services:
Data Products
Structured datasets covering Lebanon and MENA markets, including economic, sectoral, demographic, and business intelligence data.
Research & Analysis
Market research reports, sector briefs, and analytical publications produced by our in-house research team.
Advisory Services
Bespoke consultancy engagements for institutional clients, businesses, and organisations operating in or engaging with the MENA region.
Digital Platform
Our online data marketplace for browsing, previewing, and purchasing data products and research publications.
Bureau Berix reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.
Account & Access
Certain features of our platform may require you to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with third parties
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity conducted under your account
- Not create accounts using false identities or on behalf of others without authorisation
Purchases & Payments
All purchases made through the Bureau Berix platform are subject to the following terms:
Pricing
Prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise stated. Bureau Berix reserves the right to change prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders already confirmed.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of purchase. We accept major credit cards and bank transfers for institutional orders. All transactions are processed securely.
Delivery
Digital products are delivered electronically following payment confirmation. Delivery timelines for custom datasets and research are specified in the relevant product description or engagement letter.
Refunds
Due to the nature of digital data products, all sales are final once a dataset or report has been delivered. Refunds may be considered at our discretion in cases of material defect or non-delivery.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Bureau Berix website and in our products — including datasets, research reports, analyses, graphics, logos, and software — is the exclusive intellectual property of Bureau Berix or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and database rights.
What you may do
- ✓ Use purchased datasets for internal business purposes within the scope of your licence
- ✓ Cite Bureau Berix research with full attribution in your own publications
- ✓ Share non-commercial excerpts with proper attribution
What you may not do
- ✕ Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Bureau Berix data to third parties
- ✕ Reproduce or republish research reports without prior written consent
- ✕ Use our content to train AI or machine learning models without a separate licence
Prohibited Use
You agree not to use our website or services for any of the following purposes:
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bureau Berix shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Bureau Berix in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations apply regardless of the form of action — whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise — and even if Bureau Berix has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability; in such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Termination
Bureau Berix reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to our platform and services at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to Bureau Berix, other users, or third parties.
Upon termination, your right to access our platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property rights, limitation of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Lebanon, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Beirut, Lebanon.
For users in the European Union, nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you may have under applicable EU consumer protection law.
